How to make Homemade Ice-cream

Updated: Jul 8, 2021

Hi again,

So today we are going to make Ice-cream,

Today, I will be showing you to make the basic mixture. After that you can add whatever flavour or treat or make whatever flavour ice-cream you would like. Also, you will need condensed milk, which I have a recipe for on the blog or you can just buy a can of sweetened condensed milk. Make sure its sweetened condensed milk. Sweetened condensed milk is used instead of sugar in ice cream. Why can it not be normal sugar? See explanation below.

Before we start.

Why can I not just put normal caster sugar in my ice-cream?

Well, you see, you can't put normal sugar because your ice-cream just won't set. It won't be hard. It will just be like whipped cream... So, if it won't set with normal sugar what will It set with? The answer is liquid sugar. Condensed milk if its sweetened is liquid sugar so you have to, add that to your batter, or you'll just have a liquid cream thing...

Anyway, let’s get to the recipe,

Homemade Ice-cream

Ingredients:

250ml of fresh cream,

396g (or 1 can) of sweetened condensed milk.

Method:

1. Whip the cream until soft peaks.

2. Add the condensed milk and mix until all is combined.

3. Add the flavour you want your ice-cream to be.

4. Pour mix into a bowl or container.

5. Place in the freezer for at least 6 hours.

6. When ready to serve, take your ice-cream out of the freezer, Let thaw for 2 mins.

You’re ready to use!

I used fresh mint leaves and chocolate chunks to make mint chocolate chip flavoured ice-cream. Yummy and perfect weather today where I live to enjoy ice-cream.

Bye.
